CBD Oil and Hemp Seed Oil have been showing up in more and more skincare products and routines, especially as a lip moisturizer, yet they remain controversial ingredients. Shoppers who do their research know that when it comes to hemp and CBD oil, there’s nothing to be scared of.
Let’s Get The Facts Straight
First things first: Hemp seed oil will not get you high. It can be completely pure, meaning that it can have absolutely no THC or cannabinoids (like CBD or CBG). But either way, it doesn’t contain enough THC to create any psychoactive response. Also, while there are some similarities in the benefits and properties of Hemp Seed oil and CBD oil, they are not the same thing and have some key differences. We use both CBD and Hemp oil at Untamed Humans, but the focus here is Hemp Seed oil. We will have another CBD oil article coming soon, so don’t worry.
The Many Benefits of Hemp Seed Oil in Skincare
As a new, and deserving, darling in the world of beauty and wellness, Cannabis is known as “nature’s most perfectly balanced oil” because there are zero chemical formulas and no other plant sources that can match the natural effects of hemp seed oil. Whether you’re looking for a solution to a persistent issue or simply a daily supplement, Hemp Seed Oil is a great choice. Its many benefits and uses include:
- Daily moisturizing to firm, rejuvenate and tighten your skin while leaving it supple, plump and luscious.
- Gently repairing stressed, dehydrated and damaged skin, giving you a youthful glow.
- Full spectrum treatment for skincare challenges including acne, eczema and psoriasis.
- Relieving redness, discoloration, acne, soreness, dull greasy skin, rashes and a lackluster complexion, evening out your skin tone and reducing blotchiness.
- Counterbalancing the signs of aging, such as wrinkles and fine lines.
Clean Beauty With Hemp Seed Oil
More progressive skincare producers are using hemp seed oil as the foundation for their products – which makes sense because it is non-comedogenic so, unlike some other natural oils that have high comedogenic ratings (like coconut oil, flax seed oil, and palm oil), it won’t clog pores or cause breakouts.
By hydrating and nourishing the skin in the short term and providing the essential fatty acid skin needs to prevent the dryness from coming back, this special oil can help prevent psoriasis (a condition often considered to be caused by a deficiency in omega 6 fatty acid). It’s also been shown to be effective at soothing eczema and dry skin, reducing welling and combating breakouts. If you suffer from dry skin or rashes, it may be worth seeing if hemp oil helps you.
What Makes Our Hemp Oil Special?
We use a cold press to obtain the hemp oil from seeds found in the fruits of the annual plant. Cold pressing helps protect polyunsaturated fatty acids. These are the “good” fats that you find in avocado and salmon and they’re essential in preventing excessive skin dehydration. They also preserve a complex of micronutrients and vitamins that is sensitive to chemical, thermal and sun rays. Saving polyunsaturated fatty acids is essential for skin and offers a soothing effect on irritation and dermatitis. For our new CBD/CBG topical and ingestible oil, we use extremely fresh, cold-pressed oil and we enrich it with CBD and CBG along with Reishi mushrooms and herbs like Yarrow, Calendula, Nettle, Motherwort and many others. This compound activates the most coveted benefits of CBD/CBG on skin and as a supplement.
If you’re looking to use the oil as a supplement – you should choose the products that are created with cold-pressed hemp seed oil (like ours ☺). And, to get the best nutritional and medicinal benefits from the oil, never expose the oil to high temperatures and do not store it longer than a year.
